The oil mines operating on the Yarega have been built for crude oil production in the mining way based on a natural depletion drive of the formation energy. Transition to thermal mining development and increase in the extent of underground wells has shown the redundancy of mine workings. Therefore, in 2009 it was offered to develop the field by means of mini mines. Mini mines have small driving of mine workings, but at the expense of the extent of underground wells cover bigger areas with the development process.

The structure of oil formation of the Old Oskol horizon dictates the need of construction of the extracting gallery in the Eifelian horizon that leads to the large volume of drilling in it though it is not the target for development. The positive side – a warming up of the Old Oskol horizon will slightly influence the temperature in the gallery.
Characteristics of Mini Mine
The operating mines have been built for the development of the oil field on depletion mode without formation stimulation. Since, they have been adapted for thermal mining crude oil production generally for double horizon systems while driving of a large volume of mine workings (240 m/hectare).
For thermal mining development with the Underground to Surface System of drilling, this quantity of mine workings is excessive. The mini mine is intended for elimination of this problem.
The mini mine is a mine with the minimum driving of mine workings on the given area at the set extent of underground wells.
With 800 m long wells, arrangement of the mine blocks is similar to the one of the operating mines. There is no mine workings connecting with mine workings of the operating mines blocks, which are being developed by MSh-800.
MSh-1-800 includes areas 1-5 – the 1-8th enter. MSh-2-800 includes areas 2-5 – 2-6.
With 2000 m long wells, new arrangement of the mine field is made and driving of mine workings is multiply reduced.
MSh-1-2000 includes areas of 4 blocks 1-5 – the 1-8th. MSh-2-2000 includes areas of 4 blocks 2-3 – 2-6д therefore reserves and areas differ from MSh-2-800.
